Arsenal forward Olivia Smith has pulled out of the Canada squad for the upcoming SheBelieves Cup after sustaining a concussion.

Canada Soccer confirmed that Smith will not participate in the international tournament following a concussion injury. The 21-year-old forward stayed in London to begin recovery protocols with Arsenal. The national team called up Jade Rose as a replacement for the four-nation competition held in the United States, according to the Canadian Press.

Smith joined Arsenal from Sporting CP in July 2024 and has appeared in 14 Women's Super League matches this season. She previously represented Canada at the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games. Canada faces the United States in its opening fixture in San Diego on 26 February, per Canada Soccer.

Arsenal medical staff will monitor the forward's progress before she returns to domestic action. The London club currently sits fourth in the league standings. Smith has scored two goals for the Gunners since her arrival, according to statistics from The Guardian. The SheBelieves Cup also features Japan and Australia in the round-robin format.
