Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt reached the Champions League round of 16 after defeating last year's finalists Inter Milan over two legs.

Bodo/Glimt secured a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League following a 2-1 aggregate victory against Inter Milan. The Norwegian champions followed a goalless draw in the first leg with a 2-1 win at the Aspmyra Stadion on Tuesday evening. Goals from Hakon Evjen and Kasper Hogh proved sufficient to overcome the Italian giants, according to reports from Reuters.

Inter Milan, who reached the final of the competition last season, failed to find a late equaliser after Lautaro Martinez scored in the second half. The result marks the first time a team from the Arctic Circle has progressed to the last 16 of the modern Champions League format, per The Guardian.

Kjetil Knutsen's side enters the draw for the next round alongside Europe's elite clubs. The victory follows previous successes in the Europa Conference League, where the club defeated Roma 6-1 in 2021. Bodo/Glimt currently leads the Eliteserien table as it continues its domestic campaign in Norway, according to ESPN.
