Czech Republic international Tomas Cvancara is undergoing a medical ahead of his loan switch to Celtic from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Celtic are poised to complete the signing of Czech Republic international Tomas Cvancara on a loan deal from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 25-year-old striker is currently undergoing a medical in Glasgow, with an option to buy included in the agreement, reportedly for around £7 million.

Cvancara enjoyed a successful spell at Sparta Prague, scoring 24 goals in 49 appearances before his €10.5 million move to Gladbach in 2023. His time in Germany was hampered by injuries, including muscle problems and an ankle ligament tear, limiting him to eight goals in 54 games across all competitions. He also had a loan at Antalyaspor, scoring once in 11 games before returning due to unpaid wages.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill stated Cvancara is "quick and agile", not a traditional target man. O'Neill cautioned against placing too much immediate responsibility on the forward, who is eager to prove himself.
