Nottingham Forest have instructed global head of football Edu to remain away from the club's training facilities.

Forest's global head of football, Edu Gaspar, has been asked to stay away from the club's training ground. The Brazilian joined owner Evangelos Marinakis' football group in November 2024 after resigning from his position as sporting director at Arsenal. According to Sky Sports, his role involves overseeing football operations across Marinakis' network of clubs, which also includes Olympiacos and Rio Ave.

The instruction for Edu to avoid the training ground follows a difficult period for the men's senior team. Nottingham Forest currently sit 19th in the Premier League table after 27 matches, per the Premier League. The club has won only five league fixtures during the 2025-26 campaign and remains in the relegation zone.

While Edu remains in his post as a director, he will not be present at the Nigel Doughty Academy for the immediate future. The club has not provided an official reason for the decision, according to The Guardian. The men's first team continues preparations for their upcoming league fixture against Brentford.
