Jesse Lingard has signed for Corinthians after leaving South Korean side FC Seoul, per Sky Sports. The 33-year-old midfielder arrives in Sao Paulo as a free agent. He follows in the footsteps of former team-mate Memphis Depay, who joined the Brazilian club in 2024.
Lingard spent a single season in the K League 1 where he made 25 appearances and scored five goals for FC Seoul. According to The Guardian, the midfielder has agreed to a contract that runs until December 2026. He previously played for Manchester United, West Ham United, and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Corinthians currently sit in the mid-table positions of the Campeonato Paulista. The club expects Lingard to be available for selection once his registration is finalised by the Brazilian Football Confederation. Per ESPN, he becomes one of the highest-profile English players to compete in the Brazilian top flight. The move marks the second overseas spell for the midfielder since he left English football in 2023.
