McCarron joins the club from the City Football Group, where he previously served as the head of football operations for the organisation. McCarron succeeds Jon Rudkin, who leaves the role after more than 10 years in the position. Rudkin oversaw the recruitment for the Premier League title-winning side in 2016 and the FA Cup victory in 2021.
