Liverpool winger Trent Kone-Doherty has completed a permanent move to Eliteserien club Molde, according to the Premier League. The 18-year-old winger signed a contract that runs until the end of the 2029 season. The Derry-born player initially joined the Liverpool academy from Derry City in July 2022.
Kone-Doherty made 13 appearances for the Liverpool under-21 team during the current campaign. He scored one goal and provided one assist during his time with the development squad, per Transfermarkt. The Republic of Ireland under-19 international also featured in the UEFA Youth League for the Merseyside club.
Molde confirmed the signing on Friday afternoon. The Norwegian side recently finished their domestic season and is preparing for European competition. Liverpool will receive an undisclosed fee for the teenager, who had two years remaining on his professional contract at Anfield. He becomes the latest young prospect to leave the Premier League for opportunities in Scandinavia.
