Manager John McGlynn believes Falkirk have progressed faster than expected since he inherited a scary situation in 2022.

John McGlynn claims Falkirk are miles ahead of the long-term plan established when he joined the club. The manager arrived in May 2022 following the side's eleventh-place finish in League One. McGlynn described the state of the club at that time as scary, according to the Falkirk Herald.

Falkirk currently sit at the top of the Scottish Championship table. They hold a one-point lead over Hamilton Academical with a game in hand, per the Scottish Professional Football League. The team went unbeaten for the entire 2023-24 League One campaign to earn promotion.

McGlynn and assistant Paul Smith recently signed contract extensions to remain at the Falkirk Stadium until May 2027. The manager credited the board and supporters for helping stabilise the club's operations. Falkirk have won 18 of their 25 league matches this season, scoring 54 goals in the process. The club aims to return to the Scottish Premiership for the first time since 2010, per Sky Sports reportage.
