Premier League to launch Singapore streaming service

Football

The Premier League is launching its first direct-to-consumer streaming service in Singapore for the 2025-26 season.

The Premier League will introduce its first independent streaming service in Singapore from the start of the next season. Richard Masters, the league chief executive, confirmed the move aims to test a direct-to-customer model in a smaller market. The initiative follows the expiration of current broadcasting rights held by StarHub, according to Reuters.

Fans in the region will gain access to live matches and exclusive content via a dedicated application. The league intends to monitor the success of this platform before deciding whether to expand the service to other international territories. Masters stated that the league will maintain traditional broadcast partnerships in most regions but views Singapore as an ideal location for this trial.

The project marks a shift in how the league manages global television rights. Officials want to understand consumer behaviour and technical requirements for such a platform. The Premier League believes this model could supplement existing broadcast deals in the future, per The Guardian and The Athletic.
