Chris Sutton says Rangers manager Danny Rohl faces more pressure to win the Scottish Cup than Celtic counterpart Martin O'Neill.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton suggests Danny Rohl requires a Scottish Cup victory more than Martin O'Neill. The Rangers manager took charge at Ibrox following the departure of Philippe Clement earlier this season. Sutton told Sky Sports that a trophy is essential for Rohl to establish himself in Glasgow.

Celtic currently lead the Scottish Premiership table while Rangers occupy second place, per official league standings. The two clubs met in the league last weekend, resulting in a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park. Both sides have progressed to the latter stages of the domestic cup competition.

O'Neill returned to Celtic in 2025 and secured the Scottish League Cup earlier this term, according to STV News. Sutton believes this prior success gives the Irishman more security than his rival. Rangers last won the Scottish Cup in 2022 and have not secured a major trophy during the current 2025-26 campaign. The quarter-final fixtures are scheduled to take place this coming weekend.
