Chairman Dave Cormack confirmed the German coach is one of several candidates currently under consideration to lead the Scottish Premiership side. Schwarz previously managed Mainz 05, Hertha Berlin, and Dinamo Moscow. He most recently served as head coach for New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer before departing the American club.
Cormack stated that while Schwarz is in the city for discussions, the board continues to evaluate other potential appointments. The club began its search for a permanent successor following the departure of the previous management team earlier this season. Aberdeen officials intend to conduct a thorough recruitment process before making a final decision, according to Sky Sports.
