Tudor prioritises survival for Tottenham

Interim manager Igor Tudor says Tottenham Hotspur must focus on Premier League safety over Champions League progression.

Interim manager Igor Tudor stated that Tottenham Hotspur will prioritise Premier League survival over its remaining Champions League fixtures. Tudor took charge following the departure of the previous coaching staff and inherited a squad currently positioned in the bottom half of the table. The club faces a round of 16 second leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain later this week.

Speaking to reporters, Tudor confirmed that squad rotation is likely to ensure players remain fresh for domestic matches. The manager noted that the financial and sporting consequences of relegation outweigh the benefits of a deep European run. Tottenham currently sits three points above the relegation zone after 28 matches, according to the Premier League.

Tudor has implemented a more defensive tactical approach since his arrival in London. The interim boss aims to secure at least 40 points before the final day of the season, per The Guardian. Several senior players with expiring contracts are expected to feature heavily in the survival bid.
