Neil Warnock has rejoined Torquay United to lead the National League South club on a temporary basis following the exit of Paul Wotton.

Warnock has returned to Plainmoor to take charge of first-team affairs, according to Torquay United. The 77-year-old manager arrived following the departure of Paul Wotton, who left the club after less than a year in the role. Warnock previously managed the Gulls in 1993, when he successfully helped the team avoid relegation from the Football League.

Speaking at a press conference, Warnock joked that he had expected to be managing at a higher level with Tottenham Hotspur or Nottingham Forest before accepting the role in Devon, per Sky Sports. The veteran manager confirmed he is assisting the club while it searches for a permanent successor. Torquay currently compete in the National League South and occupy a mid-table position, as reported by The Guardian.

Warnock most recently managed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership but left the club in March 2024. He has managed 16 different professional clubs throughout a career spanning over four decades. Club officials stated that Warnock's experience will be vital during this transitional period.
